WE ARE MOVING TO FERN BAY...... STAY TUNED...
Come and meet the Team...
Nice to meet you! I'm Clare.
Hazel is 10 months old and loves waving her arms and bopping to children's folk music. She also loves swimming in the ocean with her dad Mark and watching Mum cook in the kitchen. Hazel is a curious investigator and loves to empty baskets and containers. She is an keen climber and is a bit of a risk taker- much to the fear and delight of her parents. Hazel adores playing and chasing after her two sausage dogs Winifred and Percy.
I have over 10 years experience working in education and childcare. I am a fully qualified Primary School teacher with a Bachelor in Primary Education from the University of Technology Sydney and have also worked in a preschool setting. I am currently studying a diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care.
I'm originally from Sydney but have called Canberra and the Gold Coast home. I have undertaken my biggest adventure to date - becoming a mum to my little daughter Hazel. I've also worked as an early childhood music teacher, worked on tall ships and sailed much of the world. I love creating and trying new art forms and am currently exploring felting and knitting. I'm also enjoying developing my own recipes for Hazel and I to enjoy together.
I love being an Educator and really enjoy being able to live my passion each day. I seek out opportunities to engage in discussions around child development, educational pedagogy and practice. I value reflective practice and am always wanting to challenge myself. I maintain wonderful links to the many fantastic Educators I have worked with and am always looking for fantastic blog and resources pages on the web.
When I left my primary teaching position to have Hazel I knew I still wanted to find a way to engage with young people and develop my skills and ideas. Family Day Care offers me a wonderful chance to explore and develop my own research around learning and engagement in these important foundation years. It also allows me to spend some precious time with my daughter and give her some wonderful friends and memories.
